Swedish Stone Massage®

Learn how to properly massage with hot stones not just offer a hot stone massage. This hands on workshop combines the use of hot and cold stones with Swedish strokes. In this class you will learn how and when to use hot basalt stones or cold marble stones for relaxation, aches, pains, injuries, tissue repair and stress reduction. You will learn techniques with the stones such as trigger point work, Myofascial Release techniques, deep tissue techniques and vibrational sound therapy. You will also learn to identify the right stone for your techniques, how to make your own set or where to purchase your stones, how to heat your stones and stone maintenance. It is highly suggested to purchase a set of stones to use in the workshop, which will allow you to bond with them.  Massage Tables, Linens and Roasters are also required. Susan trained and taught with the originator of the method of massage using stones in Tucson Arizona.  She brings to you her extensive knowledge and training as one of the pioneers of this therapy in Wisconsin since 1999. 

This class is from 9 a.m. - 6 p.m on the first day.  Day 2 is from 9 a.m. - 5 p.m. The cost of this workshop is $275.00, which will include a 43-page book on the techniques, contraindications, concepts of thermo therapy, how to heat, cool and care for your stones. Each student will give and receive a Swedish Stone Massage®. You will also receive a certificate in Swedish Stone Massage® upon completion on the last day of class.  This class is designed for certified massage therapists/bodyworkers and spa technicians. Students will need to bring stone set, roaster, massage table and other supplies.  Class size is 2 - 10 students; reserve your space today as this class fills quickly.  NCBTMB approved Continuing Education Hours = 15

Susan trained personally with Mary D. Nelson (Hannigan), the founder of LaStone (Hot & Cold Stone Therapy out of Tucson Arizona. She obtained Master LaStone Therapist (hot stone) after being certified in 1999 beginning with 2 Basic LaStone Certifications with Mary D. Nelson (Hannigan) Founder of LaStone. Completed Deep Tissue Healing LaStone in 2000 with Bruce Baltz, Stepping Stones to Reiki III 2001 with Patti Templin & Stone Soul Reflexology 2001 with Deborah Ardell Hill. Susan was an Assistant Teacher in Training with LaStone in Tucson Arizona with Mary D. Nelson beginning October 1999 to March 2001. Susan's Independent Studies include hydrotherapy notes from Canadian College of Massage and Hydrotherapy, Spa Bodywork A Guide for Massage Therapists - Anne Williams for the purpose of teaching hydrotherapy and Hot Stone/Spa course at Globe University from 2013 - 2017.
