Prerequisite: Students will have already obtained knowledge of the history, theory and practice of Reflexology by completing the basic reflexology certification, completing the foot reflexology practical workshop and documented 100 practice hours. The students shall demonstrate proficiency in performing a 60 minute foot and hand reflexology routine with the recipient in the supine position. The student shall perform the acupressure techniques using thumb presses, finger circles knuckles, palm pressing and the use of warm stones while locating and working the reflex points corresponding to all major organs, glands, parts of the body and chakras. Participants will practice proper body mechanics of practitioner including smooth transitions and effective stretches to maintain flexibility. Students will be instructed on contraindications and effectively demonstrate how to adjust the reflexology accordingly. Participants shall be able to identify and describe the zones, reflex areas and reflex points corresponding to all major organs, glands and parts of the body along with an understanding of anatomy and physiology. Participants will be able to describe observations and evaluations of the foot. The student shall engage in writing professional S.O.A.P notes with an understanding of standards and practices. Students will successfully pass a written exam along with a competency assessment.
This fully clothed therapy is performed on a massage table or reclining chair.
You will be attending the basic class with beginning students reviewing theory and practice however you will be tested on the second day of this workshop. Please bring along material provided to you in the basic workshop. This allows you practice working with beginners and review to assist you in passing the class. Be sure to bring in your documented 100 required practice hours.
This is a 2-day class from 9 a.m. - 5 p.m. The cost of this workshop is $275. Each student will give and receive a foot and hand reflexology as students practice on one another. You will also receive a professional certificate upon completion of this class providing you had completed all the requirements. NCBTMB approved Continuing Education Hours = 14
