Deep Tissue Massage Introductory Course 8 hrs

Therapists shall be able to identify specific muscle groups and the mechanics of applying deep pressure. Practice and obtain an understanding of movement (function) through palpation, press and asses. Review terminology and refine skills for deeper pressure using your thumbs, fingers, elbow, forearm, knuckles/fist or heal of your hand for compressions, glides, rolling, or holding trigger points. Develop skills while practicing hands on techniques for applying deep tissue massage to isolated muscles and muscle groups. Have an understanding of contraindications to receiving deep tissue massage. Therapist shall be able to integrate these techniques into their massage practice.

For this 8-hour class we will focus on working some of the most requested groups of muscles for deep tissue.

The cost of this workshop is $200. which includes a class manual written by Susan Cossette on techniques practiced as well as separate muscle techniques to do isolated deep tissue massage with origin and insertion details. Each student will give and receive as students practice on one another. You will also receive a certificate upon completion of this class. 2 - 3 hour travel minimum is 8 students.  Air travel minimum is 26 students. NCBTMB approved Continuing Education Hours = 8
